Post Twelve: Ace Three?

I was going to write about Philadelphia today BUT: According to someone at AintItCool:

Morgan Creek has begun the detective work on a kooky cold case. The production company has hired Jeff Sank and brothers Jason and Justin Heimberg to write a third installment of the hit franchise "Ace Ventura." The two previous "Ventura" comedies grossed more than $180 million domestically and helped establish Jim Carrey as one of the highest-paid comedy actors in Hollywood. The latest pet project is expected to center on the eccentric detective's son, who steps into his father's shoes to take over the family business.

Oh HELL naw. This is the worst idea ever, though I am sure I will see it. I was always a huge fan of the Ace Ventura series, and maybe that's why the thought of a third and crap-filled sequel kills me inside. It sounds like it will turn out to be the "Batmand and Robin" of the Ace series, oh god NO!

Speaking of the Ace Ventura movies: Warner Home Video will release Ace Ventura: Pet Detective and Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls in a Deluxe Double Feature 3-disc set on September 5th. Pet Detective will feature a 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer, Dolby Digital 5.1 English & French) audio tracks, as well as an audio commentary (with director Tim Shadyac), a making-of featurette, and trailers. When Nature Calls will feature the same disc specs as Pet Detective, along trailers and three episodes from television's Ace Ventura The Animated Series. The third "bonus" disc will contain more episodes from the Ace Ventura The Animated Series.

Its about time, and I am absolutely thrilled with this. I have never seen Pet Dick in widescreen, and have never gotten to appreciate it in that sense. I hope they have the extended version of the movie. And wow, some of the toon's are included on a third disc, even better!

I'm looking for Ray Finkle. [a shotgun cocks and is pointed at his head] ...and a clean pair of shorts.
