Post Eighty One - Ozzzzywald

Oh Oswald, Walt would be rolling around laughing in his grave if he knew they got you back.

Of course, that is old news. They aqcuired the rights to one of Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks original cartoon creations back in february for a trade to Universal for sportscaster Al Michels. A big loss on Universal's part, I would say...

In February 2006, a number of minor assets including the rights to Oswald were acquired by The Walt Disney Company from NBC Universal, as part of a deal which sent sportscaster Al Michaels from Disney's ABC and ESPN to NBC Sports. At the time, ABC had lost its contract for National Football League broadcast rights, and despite recently signing a long-term contract with ESPN, Michaels was interested in rejoining broadcast partner John Madden at NBC for the Sunday night package.

While popularly characterized in the media as a "trade", and a decidedly lopsided one at that, that characterization is faulty. The ownership rights to a cartoon character were transferred from NBC to Disney, and in exchange Disney simply released Michaels from his employment contract, allowing him to sign with NBC.

The deal includes the rights to the character and the original 26 short films made by Disney. Rights to the Universal-produced Oswald films and other related products were not included.

Walt Disney's daughter, Diane Disney Miller, issued the following statement after the deal was announced:

When Bob (Iger) was named CEO, he told me he wanted to bring Oswald back to Disney, and I appreciate that he is a man of his word. Having Oswald around again is going to be a lot of fun.

It was noted to Michaels that the Kansas City Chiefs gave the New York Jets a draft pick as compensation for releasing coach Herm Edwards from his contract.

Oswald is definitely worth more than a fourth-round draft choice. I'm going to be a trivia answer someday.

At least one Oswald cartoon is said to be in pre-production for the moment.

Walt Disney Co. has announced they are released a box set to go along with the Walt Disney Legacy Collections, full of old classic Oswald Toon's. Amazing, I can't wait.

But he is still no Mickey Mouse...

Post Eighty - Birthday Idea

Wondering what to get me for Christmas or Birthday? Well wonder no more, I just want money.

I need to do some saving for my trip to Italy, and money towards that would be a great help.

In other news, I am in the library again, which seems to be a truly uncomfortable place for me... I am sitting between an old man who keeps constantly coughing on my left, and a few girls talking on my left.

SHHHH people!

Post Seventy Nine - Walken Like Ozzy

Creepy cult film star Christopher Walken has signed on to play Ozzy Osbourne in the forthcoming Motley Crue biopic.

According to Motley Crue frontman Vince Neil, Walken will play Ozzy in a cameo appearance in the movie version of their biography 'The Dirt: Confessions of the World's Most Notorious Rock Band'. In the book, Ozzy snorts up a line of ants, so hopefully we'll get to see the crazy-eyed deadpan star do the same.

Neil let a few casting choices slip during the launch of his new Las Vegas tattoo parlour, Vince Neil Ink. Of the Walken casting, he told US radio station ABC, "How funny is that going to be." He also mentioned that the film will have cameos from Val Kilmer (who played Jim Morrison in Oliver Stone's 'The Doors' biopic) and ex-Van Halen singer David Lee Roth (who has been playing a rock star for over three decades).

Walken has long been associated with quirky music choices, including his classic Blue Oyster Cult "More Cowbell" sketch on SNL, his dapper effort in Fatboy Slim's 'Weapon Of Choice' video and his job as guardian angel in Madonna's 'Bad Girl' video.

This is about as bad as it gets. I love Chris Walken, but he is no Ozzy. I just can not see it, at all.

I am in the Central Library right now, right next to a heavily attractive girl, and after drinking two cups of joe, my stomach is in tangle and making all kinds of funny noises. It's pretty much extremely embarrassing. She has yet to laugh, or even acknowledge me yet, so that's good, I guess?

Anyways, that's all folks. DVD Tuesday is a good one this week, with the Superman Ultimate Set, and Disney's Robin Hood being released. They better get into my mail slot, like Pronto.

Post Seventy Eight - Thanks!

Cant really blame me for not writing, I have been way busy with the holiday and working them overtime hours, ugh!

But I thought I would make a list of things I am thankful for, I'll try not to be to materialistic here:

June, Family, Momma, Daddo, Preston, Kaley Bug, Friends, My Aunt's, Uncles, and Grandfolk's, Florida, Disney World, Philadelphia, Having a Job, Good Health (or so, I hope!), Good love, Good times, Good people, Animation, Movies, Music, DVDs, yeah yeah, I said it.

Speaking of DVDs...as a birthday present to myself...I am buying the 14 Disk Superman Collection...holy hell it's amazing, and really cheap for what you get. $70.00 for 14 disk, 6 movies all together, not including the different cuts of each film. Plus it comes with like 18 hours of special features, and all the old Max Fleischer toons, Amazing!

But anyways, I am most thankful for my Family, and June, and Friends. Of Course...and Disney World.

Post Seventy Seven - Vroom Vroom

Oh Cars, how you delight me. I saw Cars, Pixar's latest great film, the day it came out, back in June, and also bought it the day it came out, November 7th. I am that much in love with this movie, and all that has to do with Pixar in general.

I was listening to one of my podcast last week, and they had a contest concerning Pixar, and I answered, and turns out, I won...a free copy of a movie I already have, but either way, I am a winner, yay.

But anyways, back to Car's in general. The film puts you in a completely fictional world inhabited by living and talking car's, so at first, this may be hard to take in, but after it settles, you find that the characters take on very human personalities and traits. Over-all the film plays alot like the movie "Doc Hollywood", with its big city car getting lost in a small town with no way out for the time being.

It was ranked number one in animated films last year, and I am sure will take the 'best animated feature' at this years Academy Awards. I wouldn't however say it is a MUST SEE, but a definite for people who love anything Pixar has put out, or animation in general. You can't really lose when John Lasseter is at the wheel.

Anyways...my extra copy will be a stocking stuffer perhaps.

PS: sorry if my blog seems so sckitzo, I go back and forth between fantasy and ugly politics. Eh, I guess that is my mind, so to speak.

Post Seventy Six - May I See Your Papers Please?

This video is very disturbing, and If you have a weak stomach, or can't stand to see act's of brutality, DO NOT click play.

In a scene out of Nazi Germany, a UCLA student was tazed initially for refusing to show his I.D (i.e papers) to campus security at the school. After refusing, and initially being tazed, he begins to scream, as the students around him all yell in protest. The officers yell at him to stand up, but in their pea sized brains, they don't realize the kid has just been tazed with 5,000 volts of fucking electricity, so they administer more and more and more shocks to an already subdued man, with probably no muscle function. After repeated shocks, the man finally can't take it, and he faints.

I praise the students around him, whom protested and wanted the officers badge numbers to file a report, even after being threatened to be tazed themselves (Which is of course, a crime, or at least once was!) They should be commended.

You know what? I wouldn't have shown my I.D either. That is not freedom, or American.

Post Seventy Five - Read All About It!

Gotta love the news's, and these all peaked my interest today, Enjoy:

World:
War Crimes Probe Sought for Rummy
BERLIN - Lawyers for inmates of Iraq's Abu Gharib prison and Guantanamo Bay asked German prosecutors Tuesday to open a war crimes investigation of outgoing Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld and other U.S. officials for their alleged roles in abuse at the detention centers. (...more...)

Yeah, I would love to see this actually work.

National:
Poll: Most Doubt Dems Have Plan On Iraq
WASHINGTON - More Americans rank Iraq as the top priority of the new Democratic-controlled Congress, but nearly three out of five say the party does not have a plan to deal with the war. (...more...)

Everyone doubts right, they will not change a thing. Open borders, and hide your guns, the Dem's want them!

KFC Targets UFO's with huge sign
NEW YORK (Reuters) - From space, extraterrestrials and astronauts can look back to earth and see The Great Wall of China -- and KFC's Colonel Sanders. (...more...)

Corporations will really advertise ANYWHERE, now won't they.

Philadelphia Local
Shot over A.I. jersey, he lost his life last night
Kevin Johnson, who was left a quadriplegic after being shot over his Allen Iverson jersey, was removed from life support last night at Frankford Hospital, ending the life of a man who inspired and amazed Philadelphians with his ability to forgive the men responsible for his paralysis. (...more...)

Are you kidding me?

Gun Violence Explodes into once safe area's
The violence that has taken hold of Philadelphia this year turned two normally quiet areas into crime scenes on Sunday when two students were shot near St. Joseph's University and another man was shot at Dilworth Plaza near City Hall. (...more...)

Frightening, I walk through Dilworth everyday.

Entertainment
KFed Using Sex Tape Against Brit
Last week, a court dismissed a $10-million U.S. defamation lawsuit filed by Britney Spears against Us Weekly magazine in response to a report that she and Kevin Federline had made a sex tape and were worried about its release. Well, it appears that such a tape may exist, and Fed-Ex is threatening to make it public unless he can get some money out of Spears as part of their divorce settlement. (...more...)

It just gets better and better in this story. America's most retarded now former couple has a sex tape. Celebs need to stop filming themselves fucking, it only gets them in trouble.

Disney World
Mexico to get three new birds?
That's what Disney seems to be thinking when it comes to a renovation of the Rio del Tiempo ride in the Mexico pavilion. Word is out that Disney is planning a refurbishment, and the long-rumored plan is for Imagineers to base an updated ride on the 1944 Disney animated movie The Three Caballeros. (...more...)

Word.

DuckTales Volume 2
Chip And Dale Rescue Rangers Volume 2

Post Seventy Four - Rain Rain Go Away

(Click Map To Enlarge)

Today was interesting, I got to see another part of the city that I had never really seen. And all thanks to the rain.

It was pouring, so I decided to see how far I could walk underground, via the SEPTA (South Eastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority) underground network of transportation in center city Philly.

I started at 18th and JFK.
walked through Suburban Station.
through this really creepy tunnel under City Hall.
through City Hall and City Hall Annex.
past Broad and Market.
down a back tunnel under 13th st.
through Market East Station.
through the Ghetto-Gallery.
through the former Strawbridge's on Market.
down the walk-way to PATCO.
and finally out at the 8th St./Chestnut PATCO station.

And when I got out, I got to walk through Independence Park, and see the good ol' Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. Long time, no see.

Thank you rain, it was a fun walk.

32 Days til my birthday!

Post Seventy Two - R.I.P Ed Bradley

This is a real shame...I never knew he was a native of this fine city in which I reside as well...

(CBS News) NEW YORK Veteran "60 Minutes" correspondent Ed Bradley died of complications from leukemia Thursday morning at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. He was 65.

Bradley joined the staff of the venerable news magazine 26 years ago. His consummate skills as a broadcast journalist and his distinctive body of work were recognized with numerous awards, including 19 Emmys, the latest for a segment that reported the reopening of the 50-year-old racial murder case of Emmett Till. (...more here)

I should really write about my own perspective more, I feel lame always just throwing up a news article. I will make sure to post some pictures and give some incite on some personal things soon enough.

Post Seventy One - Dems In, Rummy Out

Oh Donny, your not foolin' us. You did not quit, the Bush agenda just did not have room for you anymore, that or they needed someone to throw into the proverbial volcano.

The Dem's have taken back the House, Governorship majority, and most likely, the Senate.

I do not know if this is a good thing or not, I do not really believe in the whole two party illusion, I am in reality, a constitutionalists, or libertarian to an extent. So, unless I see change, I will continue to be a pessimist when it comes to this government in general.

I will believe the Dem's and Rep's are not corrupt when they do all of these things:

- bring back the Bill of Rights
- bring back Habeas Corpus
- Impeach Bush
- Have hearings on Govt. contractors
- Find the 3 trillion missing from the Pentagon
- Raise minimum wage
- fully investigate the justifications for the war on terror, including 9/11.

God Bless America!

Post Seventy - BritFed un-wedd

Here's a shock...in the biggest October / November surprise yet, America witnesses a newly single Britney Spears...

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Britney Spears filed for divorce Tuesday from Kevin Federline, officials said. The Los Angeles County Superior Court filing cites "irreconcilable differences," said court spokeswoman Kathy Roberts.

Spears, 24, married rapper Kevin Federline, 28, in 2004. They have a 1-year-old son, Sean Preston, and an infant son who was born Sept. 12. The divorce papers identify the baby as Jayden James Federline.

A message left with Spears' attorney, Laura Wasser, was not immediately returned.

Spears married Federline eight months after ending a 55-hour Las Vegas marriage to her childhood friend, Jason Alexander. Her second marriage has provided endless fodder for tabloids, which have speculated frequently that the union was in trouble.

Calls left for Federline's representatives also were not immediately returned.

The filing comes just a day after Spears, back in shape after the birth of her second child, made a surprise appearance on David Letterman's "Late Show" in New York by popping up behind him as he was sitting at his desk.

Federline appeared in the movie "You Got Served" and performed as a backup dancer for singer Justin Timberlake, Spears' former boyfriend. He was previously involved with actress Shar Jackson of TV's "Moesha." Federline and Jackson have two children.

Who would have guessed...Only in America. Shes a crack head, and he is a dead beat, it obviously was not meant to be.

Everyone, I hope you voted on a paper ballot!!!

Post Sixty Nine - Gatorland Burns!

Oh my, what a tragic day for all of Central Florida...

Gatorland, the Central Florida attraction immortalized in countless family snapshots of the giant gator jaws at its entrance, burned nearly beyond recognition Monday -- but the family that founded the park in 1949 vowed it will reopen.

"In 57 years, we've had hurricanes, gas crises, recessions, 9-11. A fire's not going to stop us," said President Mark McHugh, whose wife is the granddaughter of original owner Owen Godwin Sr.

He said it could be several weeks before the icon of Old Florida tourism, famous for its Gator Jumparoo and stunt-filled gator wrestling, reopens with a makeshift entrance, potentially missing out on the first part of the critical holiday tourist season.

The gift shop, administrative offices and much of a recent $1 million renovation were destroyed, including wildlife murals on the exterior of the building, landscaping and reinforcement and a fresh paint job for those famous gator jaws.

The boardwalk that winds through the 110 acres of swamp that is home to about 1,000 alligators was left untouched by the blaze. One dwarf crocodile and two pythons housed in the gift shop are thought to be the only casualties.

Wow, this is so sad, but they will be back, and I will definitely make it a must on a future trip back home. I always thought of Gatorland as a TRUE Florida site, reminiscent of the old south, and old time Florida, before all the highways and busyness of Disney and Universal.

Sad, but still, they shall be back!

Post Sixty Eight - Saddam to Hang

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Saddam Hussein was convicted and sentenced Sunday to hang for crimes against humanity in the 1982 killings of 148 people in a single Shiite town, as the ousted leader, trembling and defiant, shouted "God is great!"

As he, his half brother and another senior official in his regime were convicted and sentenced to death by the Iraqi High Tribunal, Saddam yelled out, "Long live the people and death to their enemies. Long live the glorious nation, and death to its enemies!" Later, his lawyer said the former dictator had called on Iraqis to reject sectarian violence and refrain from revenge against U.S. forces.

George Bush, and his falseful war has caused the deaths of 50,000 or more Iraq civilians, plus almost 3,000 of our American brothers and sisters, along with leaving countless numbers of them without limb and the medical needs and insurance to care for it.

I do not condone, or agree with anything Saddam did, but there are bigger fish out there.

And ask yourself this...who gave Saddam all his weaponry? We, the United States of Hypocrisy.

Post Sixty Seven - Bond, Diddy Bond

Diddy says he wants to be the first black James Bond. The rap star put himself forward for the role at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Copenhagen last night.

Diddy, who's only previous acting role was in Monster's Ball five years ago, said: "One day the time will come for a black Bond, and hopefully I can audition for it.

"It's a dream of mine to play a great role like that," he admitted before insisting he was the man to keep Bond fans entertained should he get the part in the future.

However, Diddy has backed new 007 Daniel Craig, who takes a bow as in Casino Royale later this month.

He said: "I love the Bond they have now. He's a great actor and I think they made a great choice."

No, just no, this is probably the dumbest thing I have ever heard a celeb say...ever. Its like saying...let's have Micheal J Fox play Malcolm X. It just never will, nor never could work.

I guess the MTV EuroMusic awards are more exciting than ours could ever be... How embarrassing for us as Americans, to have our celebrities embarrass us in the old world.

We are entertainment imperialist.
