According to Wikipedia:
The film recounts the ultimately tragic tale of five young United States Marines, and one United States Navy corpsman photographed raising an American flag atop Mount Suribachi on February 23, 1945, in the midst of the Battle of Iwo Jima during World War II.
World War two, since 2nd grade, has always interested me. And movies about it, have also been of great fanfare to me.
I am not to confident in the directing skills of Clint Eastwood, and thank god he is not starring in it, as far as I know. However, the movies peaks my interest and I will try to set those thoughts aside.
The movie is to be followed up by another movie, coming out in December, called "Letter's from Iwo Jima". Letters, is the telling of the same story, from the perspective of the Japanese side. Something which very much peaks my interest.
